At Many Hands and Many Hearts, our mission is simple yet powerful:
The Mission of Many Hands and Many Hearts is to bring comfort and hope by creating and giving compassion quilts. Our beneficiaries are patients facing medical challenges, children in crisis, and others in our community facing obstacles. Through each stitch, we wrap the recipients of our handmade quilts with kindness. Founded in 2024 and rooted in compassion and community, what started as a small group of friends gathering to quilt has blossomed into a network of volunteers who pour their hearts into every stitch.
Our Story: The Heart Behind the Quilts
Many Hands and Many Hearts was born from a period of reflection during the COVID-19 pandemic. Like so many others, our founder, Cynthia Brunz, took time to reevaluate what truly mattered and how to meaningfully give back. From that reflection came a simple but powerful idea: to create comfort through handmade quilts for those facing illness, uncertainty, and crisis.
As a longarm quilter and pattern designer based in Eugene, Oregon, Cynthia had already spent years immersed in the quilting community - building relationships, teaching, and creating. But this moment sparked something deeper. What began with a single phone call to a local hospital quickly grew into a quilt donation program.
From there, the vision expanded. Cynthia brought together a compassionate network of quilters, donors, and volunteers who shared a common purpose - to provide comfort in a tangible, heartfelt way. Through her leadership and the collective efforts of many hands and many hearts, the organization continues to grow, delivering warmth, dignity, and care to those who need it most.
